Volunteering with Totnes Caring

Do you have time you could give to help others in our community?

Please come and help. Our volunteers are of all ages and come from all walks of life. Anyone who has an hour or more to spare will be made very welcome.

You need only commit as much time as you are able. You choose exactly how much time  to give - and exactly what you want to do.

Volunteers' Opportunities

We have a number of volunteering roles which we urgently need filling.

We very urgently need drivers, shoppers and befrienders. We need your help.

Please see our Volunteers Needed page.

How to Volunteer

Call us, have a chat and we will go from there. We will then send information out to you, along with a covering letter and some simple forms to fill in.

Once the forms have been completed, please return them to the office. You will then be invited to come for an informal interview to discuss what you would like to do, and to meet other members of staff. At our meeting you will be asked to complete a DBS disclosure form, so please bring along with you either your passport, birth certificate, driving licence or marriage certificate, and a utility bill.

Contact Jacquie Mills, Amanda Richards or Victoria Wolf now on 01803 865684 for more information.

A special Thank You to our Volunteers...

Our volunteers are so important to us and we hold regular meetings with them, not only to thank them, but to involve them in what we are doing - and obtain their valuable feedback. We break down these meetings into different groups to make them smaller, which enables everyone to have a say.

Each Year we hold our Annual Meeting and Awards' Ceremony which celebrates commitment to volunteers by awarding a Bronze Award for 2 years' service; Silver Award for 5 years' service; and Gold Award plus a Totnes Caring Gold Badge for 10 years' service. And something special for those who reach 20 years of volunteering for Totnes Caring!

These meetings, (or social occasions), are a chance for volunteers to meet not only each other, but also staff and Trustees. Very sociable, they are an important part of our support and appreciation of all our volunteers.

If you are interested in becoming an important part of Totnes Caring, enjoy helping others and receive pleasure from making someone's day happier and easier - and you simply want to give a little of your time - please contact us - we'd love to hear from you.
