Fundraising News

It is wonderful that so many local groups and events support Totnes Caring’s fundraising efforts. Bob Alford, our Chief Officer,  has been out and about a lot, gratefully receiving cheques on Totnes Caring’s behalf!

Recently we have received £500 from the Totnes Show and £1000 from the Totnes Rotary.

Fundraising with Totnes Caring

As a Charity, we receive very little funding and we are totally reliant on YOUR donations and fundraising activities to continue.
The only thing we charge for is our Home Help service at £13.60 per hour - (as there is a need to employ and train our very valued Home Help Staff). We do not charge for any of our other services. We do, however, ask for donations to cover our costs. Please place your donations in the volunteer collection boxes, or send us a cheque. Or, if you prefer, call in and see us - we are always pleased to see you!

You can donate online - the process is simple and secure, and we receive practically all monies you donate, (less some tiny costings).

How you can help Totnes Caring

There are many ways in which you can help support Totnes Caring:

People Who Fund Us

Individual & Group donations

This is by far our biggest funding route. We are very grateful for other groups throughout the community who continue to support us through their fundraising activities. In addition, we also receive tremendous financial support from individuals who send us donations, maybe for a particular service we have provided, or generally because they are happy to support us when they have some spare cash.

Many individuals, or their family and friends, request that any donations at their funerals be sent to us, if we have helped them throughout their lives, or they want to recognise and support the good work we do. Some local shops and businesses also hold one of our collection boxes, regularly collected by our volunteers.

We thank all our donors with a card or letter (unless they request no acknowledgement) and in our Annual Review each year.

We would hate not to say thank-you to each and every one of our contributors - and our website is another way to ensure we are able to do this - so THANK-YOU!!!

Legacies

Over the years we have received many legacies, (people leaving us money in their wills). This has proved to be a valuable support and has enabled the charity to continue to grow and support the community in many different ways.

Contracts

Totnes Caring is contracted to provide services by leading statutory agencies.
